About the GreenAir Fund Australia Trust
GreenAir Fund Australia Trust #1 (GAFA) is being
established to provide financial advisors and wholesale investors with a
platform to obtain economic exposure to the Matrix GreenAir Fund (MGAF). GAFA has recently recieved a rating of 4 stars out of 5 by Australia's leading investment research house.
Exposure to the Fast Growing International Environmental sector
The Matrix GreenAir Fund (MGAF) is being established to provide investors with exposure to the burgeoning market for environmental and carbon credit projects. Carbon credit units are created by projects that reduce the amount of harmful emissions in the atmosphere or remove harmful emissions from the atmosphere. Commercial opportunities are created through the sale and traded exchange of credits and the annuity style revenue streams generated by some carbon generating projects.
More than 180 countries have already agreed to limit their Greenhouse Gas Emmissions (GHG) by signing the Kyoto Protocol and as the number of countries participating in cap-and-trade systems increases, more GHG emitters will be required to purchase carbon credits, boosting demand in a market where supply is inelastic due to rigorous domestic and international approval processes.
Unique Strategy and Highly Attractive Foundation Portfolio
The Fund is a unique, vertically integrated offering that combines a focused international investment base with diverse income streams that give investors exposure to both the growing demand for carbon credits and a range of annuity style revenue streams such as renewable energy generation, gas capture and utilisation and forestry harvesting.
Rigorous pre-qualification and evaluation processes and the dual income stream model will ensure investments have a strong commercial offering able to deliver targeted returns exceeding 25% IRR and 3 times invested capital.
MGAF has already secured a foundation portfolio of six investments that are forecast to deliver a 33% IRR and 4.4 times invested capital based on “locked-in” forward sales agreements. As the development of these investments has already commenced, MGAF expects to deliver returns within 3 years. In addition, MGAF has a further pipeline of 20 investments that it is currently evaluating.
Highly Regarded and Experienced Investment Team
The members of the MGAF investment team come from multi-disciplined
backgrounds and have nearly 90 years of combined experience in environmental
and energy deals, carbon credit markets and investment management. Key members of the team include:
Paul Anthony:
Former CEO of AGL Energy and Contact Energy (NZ). Has significant experience working with Private Equity Funds to turn around environmental investments, Paul is one of the world’s most experienced energy and renewable project executives.
Himanshu Dua: A leader in carbon credit project origination, he developed one of the largest pipelines of carbon credit commercialisation projects in the small to medium sector, with sales agreements in excess of A$220m. He was responsible for sourcing the Fund’s foundation portfolio and 20-strong investment pipeline.
Sponsored by a Highly Regarded Investment Bank with Environmental Expertise
The fund is backed by the Matrix Group, a
privately owned financial services business in London, which has to date raised around £7 Billion for its investment
products and currently has over £2 Billion of funds under management. It has considerable experience in the environmental sector having consistiently delivered a return of over 30% IRR from 10 previous environmental sector investments.
